Today I would do a boat tour back at Parque Nacional Los Glaciares,
where we would go deeper into the lake, see some bigger glaciers and
ride by some impressive icebergs that broke off.

We then went back toward Glacier Perito Moreno, the one that I hiked on the other day.

January 22nd, 2011
I
spent the last day hanging out with a friend I made, Tatianna from Hong
Kong, who is doing a bit of world traveling. We first headed to a neat
little museum that showed some of the history of the area around El
Calafate and the glaciers.
 |
| I think they are extinct |
After
we stopped for some chocolate cake (for her) and some hot chocolate
(for me, probably my 9th delicious hot chocolate of the trip), we headed
to the water on the edge of the city to see some flamingos that,
apparently, live there.

And finally, some random pictures from around El Calafate.

Another
beautiful day in El Calafate well spent. I headed back to the hostel
with Tatianna to hang out with everyone I met at the hostel and waited
for my bus to take me to my next stop.

Next post: Ushuaia, the end of the world, the end of my trip, and penguins!!
